About the Secret Elves Project

The Secret Elves Project is an Ottawa based not-for-profit whose mission is to benefit under-privileged families with sick children.

Currently our beneficiaries are families followed by the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the Youth Services Bureau, Minwaashin Lodge, and the Ottawa Community Resource Centre's Violence Against Women Program. We hope to provide to other organizations in years to come.

Bahar began the Secret Elves Project in 2017. Being a local Financial Planner who runs a mature practice, she realized one cold, winter day, as business volume dipped, as it typically does in December, that she had time and energy to give back to the community. Inspired by her sister’s work at Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) where she would often share that many families with sick children are need during the holiday season. It was the perfect fit.

Bahar gathered a few of her colleagues, who were just as excited about this new initiative to help out. This created a snowball effect, where the desire to help with the Secret Elves Project doubled year after year and collecting donations in Bahar’s home no longer sufficed.

The Secret Elves Project became a registered non-profit organization in 2018. Now, it serves hundreds of beneficiaries identified through various organizations in Ottawa.
